My Student.

The three girls presented their ideas and we could choose which one we liked the best and join them to assist with their build and bump in. I chose Jordan, whose outdoor library idea was well thought out and very creative. The idea was that essentially these days because of technology and the loss of the work life balance in many homes there is no longer a sense of escape and relaxation within the home. The outdoor library was to reverse the idea of relaxing at home and take it back to nature.

Grand Designs.

So this semester we were tasked with assisting some 3rd years with Grand Designs. Most will know what Grand Designs is, but for those of you who don’t its a UK television show that follows the design and build of unique homes across the UK. There is also a Grand Designs Australia. Our uni was approached to participate by having all the 3rd year styling students enter designs with 3 to be chosen to create their design at the Grand Design exhibition in Melbourne. At the end of the day they would be judged by a panel of experts and the best would be chosen to win a trip to the UK. We, as 2nd years, were approached by our teachers and the 3 girls chosen about helping them build and bump in their designs.
